Classes

We offer many classes in different seasons throughout the year built to equip, encourage, and inform you in different areas of ministry. Please note: all classes have limited space and people must register individually. If you have questions about specific classes please contact their organizer.

Discipleship 101

Learn more about Jesus, the Bible, our church, and how to live out your faith. Discipleship 101 is an eight-week course teaching the basics of the Christian faith in an informal and relaxed setting. Some of the topics include: salvation, prayer, and victory over sin.

Discipleship 201

Learn to study God’s Word regularly and how to practice the basics of Christian living through spiritual disciplines. This eight-week study focuses on the principles and promises of God and the corresponding responsibilities and privileges that one has in living a life that pleases God.

Christ Follower Class

We believe God describes clearly in His Word what an authentic Christ-follower looks like and how they are to spend their time. This three-week class is an overview of how we believe a Christ-follower is to live and act based on God’s Word.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

We seek to serve the needs of anyone who would benefit from an English as a Second Language course—whether it be newcomers to Canada or those who would like to learn the English language. We use the Bible as the text and basis of discussion in order to share the love of Jesus Christ.

Evangelism Training

Our Evangelism Training Course is a practical six-week class where you will learn how to share your faith simply, effectively, and biblically.

GriefShare

GriefShare is a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. The group is led by people who understand what you are experiencing and who want to offer comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.

American Sign Language (ASL)

Learn American Sign Language with certified American Sign Language instructors.  The curriculum used is the Vista Signing Naturally program.

Stewardship 101

Stewardship 101 is a practical five-week course that examines the biblical basis for stewardship and works through a variety of topics including budgeting, saving, and getting out of debt.

Missions 101

Join us for a six-week class in which we’ll examine the what, why, and how of missions. Weekly topics include the history of missions, culture, and what we do at Harvest Oakville with missions.
