Operation Christmas Child

We are very excited to partner again this year with Operation Christmas Child to pack shoeboxes and get the good news of Jesus Christ to kids around the world. Last year we packed 3,801 shoe boxes and this year we are aiming to break the 4,000 mark!

There are three unique ways you can get involved with Operation Christmas Child right here at our church:

PACK A SHOEBOX – Pick up a shoebox in our church foyer (after October 22), stuff it full of fun items along with a cheque for $7 to cover the shipping cost and drop it back to the church (November 16–20). HERE are some great tips on how to pack a box. Better yet, pack two boxes…

PROVIDE SUPPLIES – Drop off supplies to the Church between Oct. 22 – Nov. 12 for our Community Packing Party on November 12. We will have a donation drop-box set up at the Operation Christmas Child display table in the lobby.

Supplies needed are:

    1. School Supplies – pens, pencils, pencil crayons, note pads, and picture books
    2. Hygiene Items  – facecloths, toothbrushes, combs, and soap. Please place soap in a sealable bag.
    3. Toys and Other Gifts – stuffed animals, small musical instruments, hair clips, toy jewellery, t-shirts, and socks
    4. No liquids or candy please!

Join us on Saturday, November 12, from 10am in the church foyer as we pack tons of boxes together and hear from a few people who have been part of distributing the boxes in Costa Rica. This a 100% family friendly event and a great opportunity to invite your neighbours and friends to come pack shoeboxes with us and to learn how lives are being changed.

Sign up for the Packing Party below.

In addition to the opportunities in our church you can also volunteer at the Waterloo Region Processing Centre from November 21 – December 10.  Details and sign up here.
