Romania Family Camp Update 2

Hello all from the Carpathian mountains of Romania! Family Camp has begun, and we are having a blessed time enjoying fellowship with our Romanian brothers and sisters, encountering God’s awesome creation all around us.

This week we are focusing our learning time on discipleship, and our first two topics were “God’s Word,” and “Prayer”.

The Romanian elders lead our teaching times, encouraging and instructing us in the importance of being in God’s Word daily and in the importance of prayer. We have been journaling, using the H.E.A.R method, trusting that God will grow us through His Word.  (John 8:31-32)

Our session on God’s Word also spoke on the importance of Scripture meditation and memorization (Psalm 119:11) “I have hidden your word in my heart that I may not sin against you”.

After teaching times we moved into our breakout groups – men with men and women with women. In these groups we disciple alongside our Romanian brothers and sisters, to help facilitate small group discussion on what we just learned.

We have been so encouraged by the positive and excited response that many have had to using a journal, some for the first time. They embraced having a structured method in place to assist them in digging deeper into the word of God just as we embraced it when we first began d-groups. The discussions that followed were open, honest, and fruitful.

Our afternoons have been filled with games, free time and dinner. We all had a great time enjoying each others company, sharing a little completion time filled with laughter.

After dinner we all came together again for worship and sharing testimonies. God is so good! It truly is a time to grow.

Please pray for the team as we continue to come alongside our fellow Romanian group leaders to “Intentionally equip believers with the word of God, through accountable relationships, empowered by the Holy Spirit in order to replicate faithful followers of Christ”. – Robby Gallanty

Pray for the hearts of all of us, that we may move from duty, to desire, to delight in our pursuit of a deeper relationship to God through feeding on His Word.

Till next time
