“From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised!” -Psalm 113:3
Dear Family and Friends,
We greet you in the precious name of Jesus. Our year of service as missionaries on the island of Grenada has been completed. It will be again with mixed feelings that we have to leave behind the people we formed friendships with and come to love. We thank God for the many people we were able to counsel and the areas of ministries in which He has used us. We were able to relate to locals and enjoy the company of many visitors. They welcomed us and made us feel at home. Looking back we have grown in our faith, through the many challenges. God stretched our ability and life took on a new meaning for us.
This is a mission trip to be remembered. There were happy and sad moments. It is time to update you about our return to Canada. We bought our tickets to arrive on March 29, 2017, Lord willing. We are preparing ourselves to fit into the culture again; we are packing and thinking ahead. We do not know what to expect. We put our trust in God because we know who holds the future and we are in His hands.
We have been gone for one year and we imagine that there are some changes since we left Canada. To help us adjust quickly, we would like to be familiarized with some of the changes. What changes has taken in the church within the last year? How many services are there? What are the hours for the Easter services? What are some of the new things happening? What is the weather forecast when we arrive? How many discipleship programs are running each week? Are there any changes in the senior group that we should be aware of? We pray that God will continue to bless all the faithful servants of God who faithfully serve him regularly in every department of his church and working together for the kingdom.
Psalm 134 – Praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD who minister by night in the house of the LORD. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the LORD. May the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion!
We will wrap up our entire ministry tomorrow except we still have to cook this week and next for YWAM. Today we were honoured with a special dinner. It’s a traditional dinner for certain occasion. They did it early because this dinner takes time and next week would be very busy for the students. After we all ate and enjoyed the meal, each student and staff member blessed us with words of encouragement and circled around us in prayer. They released us from our duties as a sendoff from our commitment with them. It was very emotional to hear the comments not knowing the impact we had on the students, as seniors we made a difference to them. We praise God, it’s nothing we have done we are here to serve the people of all ages.
As we are sorting out what to take and what to leave, our hearts are filled with joy and excitement to be united again with our family and friends. Nothing can compare with the plan of salvation God freely offered to those who believe—it makes us truly humble to be a part of this work. We count it all a great privilege to assist in the ministry on the Island of Grenada.
